The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has officially released the November 2025 Advanced Level examination results, recording an improvement in the national pass rate.

The overall pass rate increased to 95.75 percent in 2025, up from 94.58 percent in 2024, representing a rise of 1.17 percentage points.

Addressing journalists in Harare on Friday, ZIMSEC board chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo said candidates would begin accessing their results online from 4 pm on Friday via the ZIMSEC portal.

“The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council board and management would like to advise the nation of the release of the 2025 November Advanced Level examination results,” said Mapfumo.

“With effect from today, 9 January 2026, 4 pm, Advanced Level examination candidates’ results will be accessible to all candidates and authorised personnel online through the ZIMSEC portal accessed through the ZIMSEC website www.zimsec.co.zw.”

He added that the online portal would remain open for a limited period.

“Please take note that this portal will be open for 5 days only. Heads of examination centres will be able to collect the results for their respective schools/centres from our regional offices on Monday, January 12, 2026,” Mapfumo said.

Professor Mapfumo also disclosed that there was a notable increase in candidate numbers in 2025 compared to the previous year.

“The total number of candidates who sat for the November 2025 Advanced Level examination was 36,635, compared to 33,585 in 2024. This translates into an increase of 3,050 candidates, yielding a percentage increase of 9.08,” he said.

He explained that 36,282 candidates wrote two or more subjects in November 2025, and 34,740 of them obtained grade E or better in two or more subjects.

“This translates to a pass rate of 95.75%,” Mapfumo said.

“In comparison, 33,246 candidates wrote two or more subjects in November 2024 and 31,443 obtained grade E or better in two or more subjects, translating to a pass rate of 94.58%. The national pass rate for 2025, therefore, increased by 1.17%.”
