Ama2k Fest positions itself as Zimbabwe’s bold new youth festival with a continental line-up

In the past few years Zimbabwe's entertainment space has reached fever pitch, with a new event/outdoor experience sprouting every month. While often it has been the same idea regurgitated under a new name, sometimes a bold concept that pushes the boundaries of what's possible comes around. Ama2k Fest, a space aimed at the youth by the youth, is one such bold notion.

The brainchild of PERivent Global Entertainment – a company spearheaded by a group of multidisciplinary creatives, with marketing guided by Multiperi and Zìmcelebs – Ama2k Fest is poised to be an event that the youth not only experience but actively take part in. This will be in the performers that grace the stage, the staff that man the event and the collaborators that lend a hand in marketing, organisation and everything else.

Set for the 4th of April at Belgravia Sports Club, the festival will be graced by stars from across the continent. The headliners have been revealed: Ruger from Nigeria, as well as Scotts Maphuma and Naledi Aphiwe from South Africa.

Supporting them will be "Gevha" hitmaker Bagga, rising Afro-pop songstress Atenda Chinx, "Bhimu" hitmaker Sane Wav, beloved vocalist Shashl, Zimdancehall royalty Nutty O, Zim Hip Hop Award winning artist Runna Rulez and rising DJ Yahya Goodvibes.

In addition to fostering employment in the arts and entertainment ecosystem, Ama2k Fest will also have a charity component. A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to Marondera Children Home, and this will be a yearly component of the annual event.

"Beyond just hosting an event where the youth can have a great experience, we're hoping Ama2k Fest can be tool for positive change. We will be making a donation to Marondera Children's Home and this will be part of each edition of the event we host," stated organisers.

Early bird physical tickets for the event are now on sale in Harare from Med Orange Pharmacy (Corner Angwa and Kwame Nkrumah Ave) and Diamond Pharmacy (Corner Angwa and Jason Moyo Avenue), with online tickets selling via Ticket Bay. Ordinary tickets are going for $10, VIP for $30 and VVIP for $50.
