Cash Mannex drops emotional video for latest single 'Zvoenderera'

KUDZAI CHITSATSO

Afro-dancehall artist Cash Mannex has released a heartfelt video for his newest single, "Zvoenderera," produced by DJ Fantan at Chillspot Recordz.

The song dives into themes of heartbreak and betrayal, inspired by Cash Mannex’s real-life experiences with a cheating girlfriend. In an interview with ZimSphere, the Chitungwiza-born musician shared the emotional backstory behind the track.

"The song was inspired by my girlfriend, who kept cheating on me," he revealed. "At first, she lied to me, but I eventually caught her red-handed. This happened multiple times, and after forgiving her twice or thrice, I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. That’s what ‘Zvoenderera’ is all about."

The video captures the raw emotions of the painful ordeal, bringing the lyrics to life in a vivid portrayal of love and betrayal.

Born Emmanuel Mannex on January 3, 1988, in a family of seven, Cash Mannex discovered his passion for music as a high school student in 2002. Growing up in Chitungwiza, he was inspired by the rise of the urban grooves movement, which fueled his aspirations to pursue a career in music.

Although his journey has not been without challenges, including the loss of loved ones and failing to qualify in the Starbrite Talent Show in 2012, Cash Mannex has remained determined.

He launched his career with the single “Chikonzero Ndiwe,” a collaboration with Lady B, and later worked as a backing vocalist for artists like Praise Guveya, Pachihera, and Juntal.

In 2020, he made a strong comeback with the release of “Ndiye Wandakada,” which premiered on YouTube to positive reception. Since then, the singer has remained focused on building his career, with the support of his manager and older brother, Tapuwa Magwenzi, who resides in the United Kingdom.

“Zvoenderera” is the latest addition to Cash Mannex’s growing discography, which includes hits like Chikonzero Ndiwe, Tsvara Kadenga, Mai Mwana, and Gara Wavaudza.

With a renewed passion for music and a strong support system, the father of one is determined to produce more hits and solidify his place in Zimbabwe’s Afro-dancehall scene.
