Zimbabwe 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 5

Highlanders' 3-0 win over Chegutu Pirates on Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium moved the Bulawayo giants to the top of the table. Two strikes from Brighton Ncube and a goal from Lynoth Chikukwa sealed the win for Highlanders.

Bosso are now three points clear at the top, but only because second-placed FC Platinum had their match against CAPS United abandoned on Saturday.

The encounter between FC Platinum and CAPS United was abandoned in the 85th minute following a pitch invasion from the Caps United crowd at Mandava Stadium.

Defending champions Ngezi Platinum woes continued as they lost 2-1 to Green Fuel, further dampening their form which has already started on a low note.

Donald Ngoma scored for Green Fuel in the 3rd minute before Madamburo's Polite Moyo leveled the tie four minutes later.

James Nguluve's strike in the 32nd minute was enough to sink Ngezi.

Elsewhere, Yadah lost 2-1 against Simba Bhora in their first match at the Heart Stadium. Khama Billiat was taken off before the break due to injury for Yadah.

Dynamos were held to a goalless draw at home against visitors Bulawayo Chiefs, as their continuously struggle to find the net.

Chicken Inn were surprise losers to a struggling Manica Diamonds in Mutare losing by a goal to nil.

This was also the first win for Manica Diamonds this season.

ZPC Kariba lost 1-2 to Herentals; while Telone got the better of Hwange winning 1-0.
