Heavenly Praises Chorus to Launch New Album, Genesis (Mavambo)


Heavenly Praises Chorus (HPC), a Zimbabwean choral group, is set to launch its new album, Genesis (Mavambo), on September 30, 2023, at the Zimbabwe College of Music. The album features six tracks, including Mwelesa, Mwari Murizuva Redu, Umelusi, Ndimi Moga, Mwari Wakanaka, and Vatsvene Vachamuona.

HPC was formed in 2012 by Mr. Robert Chikaka and Mr. Emmanuel Nyika with the aim of providing a platform for young people to develop their vocal talents and stay away from negative coping mechanisms such as drug and substance abuse, criminal activity, and prostitution. 

The choir has since become one of the most successful choirs in Zimbabwe, winning numerous awards, including the Festival of Song National Championship in 2021 and the Zimbabwe Region - Old Mutual National Choir Festival Championship in 2021, 2020, and 2019.

HPC is also committed to developing a competitive choir that can represent Zimbabwe at the national and international level. The choir performs a variety of musical genres, including choral, opera, African, and world contemporary music.

The launch of Genesis (Mavambo) is a major milestone for HPC and it is sure to be a memorable event. The album is a celebration of the choir's journey so far and it is sure to inspire and uplift audiences.

Heavenly Praises Chorus (HPC) is an institution with a choral programme aimed at developing and nurturing vocal talents of individuals. The individuals when combined form a formidable Choir which performs nationally and regionally. 

The choir recruits its members from churches and local communities. The choir is made up of adults, youths in and out of school. Our current membership is at 70 Choristers, 60% female and 40% male. The choir was formed in 2012 on the 15th of December by Mr. Robert Chikaka and Mr. Emmanuel Nyika.

Sponsors will have the opportunity to have their logo and branding displayed on all HPC promotional materials, including the album cover and launch event tickets.
