Mugaratia drops Saladic Gangsta EP – A tale of dance loops, love ballads, and a bit of Solomon’s herb

TAWANDA CHARI

There are moments when an artist just catches fire. Everything they touch turns into cultural currency. You know those guys who are just vibing, touching everything, and somehow, it all turns to gold? Yeah, he's one of them. Right now, Mugaratia is that guy. That saladic gangsta. And that's the name of his latest offering, the 'Saladic Gangsta EP,' a crisp 17-minute sermon that just reinforces this golden touch. It's the kind of music you want to share with your whole WhatsApp contact list.

Mugaratia releases new EP, Saladic Gangster. and here is a review

It's not a concept EP per se, but thematically it's consistent: indulgence, introspection, romance, spiritual balance, and vibes. A range that Mugaratia continues to excel in.

Jet

"Soft life only," Jet whispers. This is that song for the loyal mjolo soldiers still holding the line despite the chaos outside. In a world full of "mjolo" headaches, this one is for the couples still holding hands and probably sharing a Netflix account. It's a mood enhancer, pure and simple. It's tender, slow, and designed for those 1 AM convos with your person – those “do you think we’re soulmates?” moments. It’s R&B adjacent, but not trying too hard to be neo soul.

Mambo Solomon

At this point, I also want to know what Solomon smoked. Because no sober person marries 700 women and keeps 300 concubines on standby (the veracity of this story being a matter for another day). Mambo Solomon feels like Mugaratia’s hazy, herb induced meditation on wisdom, legacy, and recreational pharmaceuticals. If Bob Marley and King Solomon ever did a collab, this would be it. Well, probably not. Expect the 420 gang to adopt this as their new gem.

Fangushi

This one? This is the hit. It’s the kind of song that gets you up from the chair before your brain even knows what’s happening. Mugaratia taps into dancefloor chemistry, not with overcomplicated lyrics. Forget deciphering the message; this one is pure physical reaction. If this doesn’t get club play, someone’s not doing their job.

Prayer & Pushups

The world is full of extremes. Full spiritualism or full hedonism. Mugaratia reminds us that balance is key. Prayer & Pushups is the “get your life in order” anthem.

Jola + Wawiwhy

Sometimes the only logical response to heartbreak, unemployment, and zesa levels of darkness is party. These two tracks are the Saladic Gangsta answer to adulting fatigue. Laced with carefree, youthful energy, they embody the soft nihilism of a generation that says: “Life is short, let’s party while we can.” Whether it’s casual link ups, weekend escapades, or simply chilling with your gang over some cold brews, these tracks are the soundtracks to that reckless but joyful season in life.

Mugaratia is on a hot streak. Saladic Gangsta is the type ofaround like that blessed joint Solomon probably had. It’s funny, honest, spiritual, romantic, energetic … it’s life in just six songs.

He’s figured out how to make music you want to share, and that’s a rare gift. Whether you're in love, want to dance, in prayer, or in the club there’s something here for you.
