Hot100 Zimbabwe: ‘Handinyore’ holds firm and the man behind ‘Mwari Aripo’ steps forward as HLGM holds firm at No.2

ZIMSPHERE

Week 4 of January 2026 of the Hot100 Zimbabwe chart arrives with a sense of consolidation at the summit but visible tremors just beneath it. Familiar names remain at the top, but momentum shifts, new entries and major surges further down the chart are notable.

Hot100 Zimbabwe enters Week 4 and Mr Attention's Handinyore holds firm at No.1

At No.1, Mr Attention’s Handinyore stands unmoved. With no upward or downward shift, the record confirms its dominance .

And we finally know who HLGM is—and it’s not what people thought.

For weeks, “Mwari Aripo” has dominated timelines, and the upper tier of the Hot100 Zimbabwe Chart. The name HLGM sparked curiosity, debate and even speculation. Now, the man behind the movement has stepped forward.

Real name Marvin Dube, HLGM has clarified the meaning behind the acronym that many had questioned.

“I go by the name HLGM. Many people have been asking what HLGM means. HLGM are the first letters of my family — my wife, myself and my two children. So that’s HLGM. It’s nothing demonic, just those abbreviations.”

With that statement, Marvin not only addressed the rumours but reframed the identity behind one of the year’s biggest gospel records. What some assumed to be mysterious branding is, in fact, deeply personal.

He explains that HLGM was never about replacing his role as a minister, but expanding it.

“The HLGM movement was a step forward in the ministry that I’m already in.”

Marvin, who writes his own music, says artificial intelligence became a tool rather than a replacement.

“AI gave me a platform whereby I can write a song at a higher range than me, but someone else can sing it better — and why not try it? AI is an instrument… I’m the human behind. I pray through, I write the songs.”

Notably, the entire Top 3 remains unchanged this week, as Jah Prayzah’s Ruzhowa holds steady at No.3.

The first visible shift inside the Top 5 comes from Nashie Zim’s Kunge Redhiyo, which climbs one place to No.4. Meanwhile, Nutty O’s Too Much slips slightly to No.5. Kunge Ngirozi remains fixed at No.6, while Week 4’s highest Top 10 debut arrives at No.7 with Tatenda Timothy Kashiri’s O Mwari Muri Zuva Rangu entering as a new entry.

Below that, Atenda Chinx’s Makoti eases down to No.8, Takura’s Vendor slips to No.9, and Raymer’s Kapoto closes the Top 10 at No.10, also edging downward.

Oriyano’s Kamubhoga climbs five places to No.11, while Freeman’s Falling In Love edges upward to No.14. Prince Chigwida’s Mazambara posts a strong gain to No.15, reinforcing his continued presence across the chart.

Further down, the week’s most dramatic movement belongs to Jnr Spragga’s Marulez, which rockets an astonishing 53 places to No.26, easily the biggest climb of Week 4 and one of the most explosive jumps seen so far this year. Close behind in impact is Donatar Calvins’ Door Ratovharwa, surging 29 places to No.35, and Jah Prayzah’s Necessary, which makes a decisive leap of 21 places to No.22. Jah Prayzah also registers another strong climb with Ndini Mukudzei, rising 20 spots to No.28.

There are, however, notable declines. Minister Mahendere’s Bako Rangu drops eight places to No.18, while Nashie Zim’s Mwana Wangu retreats to No.23. Freeman’s Bvira Vira falls sharply to No.37, and Enzo Ishall’s Chibatamabvi slides five places to No.16.

Week 4 also introduces fresh energy beyond the Top 10. In addition to Kashiri’s Top 10 debut, Mr Attention expands the “Handinyore” brand with Handinyore Remix entering at No.27.

As for last week’s newer entrants, results are mixed. Some have consolidated, others have surrendered ground. Joyful Praise Choir’s Takayedza (Jesu Anozvigona) slips to No.40, while Shayne’s Mamvemve drops to No.39.

Meanwhile, Saintfloew’s Wicked Weekend holds its position at No.29.
