Rapper RayKaz drops explosive lead single 'Too Much' featuring Suhn ahead of 'Those Around Me' album

TAWANDA CHARI

RayKaz has officially kickstarted the rollout for his highly anticipated upcoming album Those Around Me with the release of its lead single, Too Much, featuring adlib contributions from none other than Suhn (and we all gotta love Suhn's adlibs). The track is now out on all platforms and it is a banger that sets the bar very high for what is to come.

A blistering, lyrically dense statement piece, Too Much shows RayKaz operating at the peak of his pen game. Arguably one of the finest we've had in Zimbabwean rap ever. He raps:

Got too many folks need food on plates, so I really don't eat too much.

Never really need too much.

I already seen too much.

It’s this grounded introspection plus technical sharpness that makes Ray’s writing so consistently impactful. The lines blur the personal and the philosophical, the streetwise and the scholarly, so no surprise as he name-drops himself as a “Fabian scholar,” flipping the bar with layered brilliance:

Pay me, pay me, pay me attention or pay me in dollars.

Pay me in death if you gave me a problem.

Pay me respect, I’m a Fabian scholar

Suhn’s ethereal adlibs float in the background, subtly elevating the mood. An understated yet essential ingredient in the track’s sonic weight.

But what truly seals Too Much as a standout is the accompanying visual. Directed with precision and they let Mukudzei’s aura farm??. The visuals are a perfect match for the track’s energy.

The metaphorical wordplay is relentless:

Lillard Logo shooting shots from the center.

He goes outside 'cause they know they get light when they put together Ray with a son/sun/Suhn.

That last bar? Ridiculous.

Those Around Me is expected to drop end of July, and if Too Much is anything to go by, this is shaping up to be one of the strongest local rap albums of 2025.

And we’re definitely paying attention.
