Whether you are an aspiring artist, a seasoned veteran, or a passionate listener, you will find something to enjoy at this epic celebration.

The Annual Zim Hip Hop Awards are more than just a ceremony. They are a symbol of excellence, a recognition of talent, and a showcase of creativity. The winners of the awards receive the coveted gold gong—a trophy that represents the highest achievement in hip-hop.

To earn this honor, the contenders have to prove themselves over a period of 12 months, during which their work, impact, and influence are carefully assessed.

The award show is also a feast for the eyes and ears. You will be treated to amazing live performances from some of the most talented and respected nominees.

You will witness the diversity, originality, and vibrancy of Zimbabwean hip-hop. You will feel the pulse, the energy, and the excitement of the rap culture.

The Annual Zim Hip Hop Awards are open to all Zimbabweans who meet the eligibility criteria. You must be a citizen or a permanent resident of Zimbabwe for at least six months before the date of submission.

If you are part of a duo or a group, at least half of the members must meet this requirement.

Your music must have been released on radio or public media platforms between November of the previous year and October of the current year. You must also provide evidence of your work and its release date.

The nominees for the awards are selected by a panel of experts from the Zim Hip Hop Awards committee. The list of nominees is announced in the press one month before the event.

The winners are revealed at the award show, which takes place in the second week of December. The winners receive a framed plaque, along with the gold gong, as a token of appreciation for their outstanding contributions to the Zimbabwean hip-hop industry.

The Annual Zim Hip Hop Awards have 24 categories that cover various aspects of hip-hop.

From Best Male and Best Female to Best Newcomer, Best Hip-Hop Duo/Group, Best Album, Song of the Year, Best Producer, and Best Collaboration, the awards celebrate every facet of the genre.

The awards also honor people and organizations that have supported and promoted the Zimbabwean hip-hop scene. These include Best Promoter, Best Diaspora, Best Radio DJ, Best Club DJ, Best Gospel Act, Best Dance Act, Best Underground, Best Alternative, and the Planet Dodger Award (formerly Best Online Media), which pays tribute to the late Dodger Donald Marindire.

The awards also recognize the importance of visual art in hip-hop. The Video of the Year and Video Director of the Year categories celebrate the best video productions and directors in the industry. The Best Hip Hop Hustle and Best Hip Hop Verse (Sweet 16 Award) categories acknowledge the best business acumen and lyrical skills in hip-hop.

The People's Choice Award allows you to engage and actively participate in selecting your favorite artist. Your voice will be heard, as the power rests with the fans to determine the ultimate winner in this category.
