The biggest spectacle of the 2023 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Matchday 7 was the Harare derby, pitting giants CAPS United against Dynamos FC at the National Sports Stadium in the capital.

In a match that registered a positive and encouraging attendance, Dembare emerged victors as they beat bitter rivals Makepekepe by two goals to nil; grabbing all the bragging rights that come with winning the Harare derby.

Following a successive run of defeats, Dynamos finally broke the jinx with goals from Donald Mudadi and Jayden Barari — both which came in the first half.

The victory gave Dynamos coach Herbert ‘Jompano’ Maruwa some much-needed reprieve after pressure to win matches was seriously mounting against him.

CAPS fought valiantly to prevent more goals being scored against them. Dynamos occupy fourth position on the log with 11 points, while CAPS sit in third place with 12 points.

Highlanders FC edged Hwange 1-0; with the victory at Barbourfields in Bulawayo propelling Bosso to the top of the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table.

Highlanders’ goal came from Washington Nyavaya. Bosso’s unbeaten run continues; with some confidence from their impressive clean sheets. Bosso lead the league standings with 14 points.

FC Platinum’s lukewarm form has not inspired much confidence; the team’s lacklustre performances persist. Herentals College emerged victorious over the Zvishavane outfit with a narrow 1-0 win.

This is FC Platinum’s second loss of the 2023 Zim PSL campaign. Herentals College’s victory propelled the team to 7th  position on the log (10 points), and Platinum in 6th position (11 points).

The biggest wins went to the Mutare outfit Manica Diamonds and Mhondoro side Ngezi Platinum. The former scored four past army side Black Rhinos; and the latter walloped ZPC Kariba 5-1.

Manica Diamonds take 5th position on the log with 11 points.

With an unbeaten run since the 2023 season commenced, Ngezi Platinum are number 2 on the log with 12.

Anchoring the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League table are ZPC Kariba (7 points); Green Fuel (5 points); Black Rhinos (5 points); and Cranborne Bullets (2 points).
