R.Peels’ transfiguration from a controversial rapper to a commercial artist is an interesting chapter in the Zimbabwean hip hop arena. Tanaka Mungoyo of the moniker R.Peels is a renowned hardworking rapper from Chitungwiza who boasts of 3 albums in 3 years. His work ethic is nothing but commendable and the amount of energy he possesses is truly remarkable.

R Peels Muchinjiko album

The Moto track unraveled a beast despite his skinny stature, something he has always rapped about. Muchinjiko will be his 4th studio album and one of the exciting producers to look out for from this project is Jax. It will be a much anticipated album from a trusted rapper who has never disappointed his legion. Muchinjiko will drop in August.

Earlier this year, R.Peels released a video off the Cursed By Men Blessed By God EP for the song Landlord and it marked the beginning of his commercial endeavor. Fast forward a few months later he was to bless the streets again with a hot single and video Eke in which he exclaims ‘2020 taaBusiness’.  R Peels is one of the leading brand ambassadors for Zvigaba and perhaps some of these endorsements have inspired the rapper to stop all the controversy but focus on the hustles - the business side of the art. He declared on social media that he was never to be seen again in controversial buzz.

Akandiroya is the latest audio track which features Zimbabwe’s most promising star Ishan of the Kure hit. The duet is also part of the forthcoming album and the video will be released on the 24th of July.

Akandiroya chronicles a love story which most niggas can resonate with. From an understanding of R.Peels' projects. it is clear how the rapper is fond of these love songs and you can check out for tracks like Waya, Movie Outdoor and Zvaunoda. Akandiroya has debuted 122 on Apple music Zim charts and will continue to make waves now that the rapper’s music is now going mainstream.

The upcoming Muchinjiko album will feature dancehall sensation Nutty O and this announcement has raised eyebrows. All we can do now is to wait for yet another spiritual album from the talented lyricist.
