The resplendent Miss Bhekiwe has released a three-song EP titled T3APACK, so called because her face, body, and aura are “tea,” according to the artist herself. How apt. The project delivers a vibey, laidback listening experience, leaning towards contemporary RnB with a strong AfroPop flavour.
Produced by Sparks 45, with the duo’s certified chemistry clearly on display, the EP serves as a fitting follow-up to her tender release this year, HOW DEEP, which explored themes of heartbreak and uncertainty in love. This project marks a new chapter, with a noticeably more confident tone in both her songwriting and vocal delivery.
The EP opens on a very sexy and sultry note with WADII, a bold invitation to intimacy that featured artist Bagga responds to enthusiastically. The song is accompanied by a well-directed video that highlights Bhekiwe’s technical skill. Highly danceable and catchy, the track works effectively as the lead song, thanks to its polished blend of genres.
The second easy-listening track features the dynamic Young Gemini and is a plea for clarity, tastefully delivered. It highlights the synergy between Bhekiwe’s soulfulness and Young Gemini’s assertive hip-hop lyricism.
The theme of enticing a lover is carried into the third song, a freestyle titled Dive, which gives the project pleasing coherence. The track also showcases Bhekiwe’s vocal agility in a new format.
The featured artists were strong choices in terms of chemistry and their potential to introduce Bhekiwe to new audiences. However, the near-total lack of marketing significantly undermines this. Another worrying aspect is that neither feature is credited on audio streaming platforms, and while Bagga appears in YouTube credits, he does not feature in the official video—despite a well-circulated visual of the two artists performing the song together online.
Overall, T3APACK is a solid addition to Miss Bhekiwe’s discography and further cements her status as a queen of the Zimbabwean pop scene. So tea.
