TAKUDZWA HILLARY CHIWANZA
Strutting into their debut PSL season as favourites to win based on their performances from the division, big player purchases, and a generally strong financial muscle, Scottland seemed the favourites to win the PSL title. And they have proven this.
A convincing 5-1 win over Kwekwe United at the latter's home ground sealed Scottland's favourable fate, with goals from Khama Billiat, Tymon Machope (two), Ronald Pfumbidzai, and Tadiwa Chakuchichi leading them to the much-coveted title. (Machope's goal tally for the season now stands at 15.)
It also becomes a beautifully memorable moment for Scottland gaffer Tonderayi Ndiraya, who becomes the first manager to win the PSL title with two different clubs in two successive seasons – having led Simba Bhora to victory last season.
All the moves have paid off for Scottland; with many regarding them as being a necessary addition to the top-flight league, bringing a level of excitement that had gone into extinction in the last recent years.
For others, Scottland's big money moves are probably a cause for concern. We have seen that in countless leagues across the world.
But for now, they celebrate.
And they'll obviously celebrate hard.
Scott Sakupwanya will probably savour this moment for eternity.
