Laura Delany takes 4 wickets as Ireland Women wins 2nd T20I

HARARE – In the second T20 International at Harare Sports Club, Ireland Women secured a 42-run victory over the Lady Chevrons, advancing to a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

Opting to bowl after winning the toss, the Lady Chevrons faced a formidable display from the touring side, as they amassed 94 runs for the opening wicket. 

Amy Hunter, the opener and wicketkeeper, exhibited a stellar performance, finishing unbeaten on 77 from 57 balls, including six fours and two sixes. 

Her opening partner, Gaby Lewis, also contributed significantly, scoring 44 from 43 balls, featuring six fours. Among the Lady Chevrons' bowlers, Precious Marange stood out, securing one wicket for 26 runs across her four overs.

In response, the Lady Chevrons managed to reach a total of 130/8 in their 20 overs, with opener Kelis Ndhlovu emerging as the highest run-scorer, crafting 56 runs from 41 balls, encompassing four boundaries and two sixes. 

Pellagia Mujaji also made a noteworthy contribution with a run-a-ball 31, while captain and opener Mary-Anne Musonda added 17 runs from an equal number of deliveries.

Laura Delany starred with the ball and was named player of the match.She finished with figures of 4-12. 

The third T20I is on Tuesday with the Lady Chevrons needing a win to avoid a series defeat.
