Takashinga 1 Cricket Club secures six-wicket victory over Queens Sports Club

Takashinga 1 Cricket Club secured a comfortable six-wicket victory over Queens Sports Club in the seventh match of the National Premier League (NPL) at Kwekwe Sports Club. Innocent Kaia played an aggressive innings, scoring 80 runs off 64 balls to lead his team to victory.

His unbeaten knock included nine fours and two sixes, and he received support from veterans Roy Kaia and Chamu Chibhabha, who both contributed 23 runs. Takashinga 1 won the toss and elected to field first, and their bowlers performed exceptionally well, not only taking wickets but also restricting Queens from scoring freely. Tapiwa Mufudza was particularly impressive, conceding just 1.67 runs per over in his nine overs.

Even part-timer Tinashe Kamunhukamwe managed to pick up a wicket despite conceding 20 runs in his four overs. With this win, Takashinga 1 remains in contention for the title with six matches remaining in the tournament.

Donald Tiripano scores century to guide Mutare Sports Club to victory

Donald Tiripano, a seasoned pro, showcased his talent by scoring an impressive century to guide Mutare Sports Club to a three-wicket triumph over Westside Cricket Club. Tiripano's unbeaten 103 came off just 86 deliveries and included 11 fours.

He joined the crease at number five after Clive Chitumba (44) and Kudzai Sauramba (40) had already laid a solid foundation. Despite a shaky start, Tiripano's skill with the bat proved invaluable as he dominated the Westside bowlers.

John Masara also played a crucial role by contributing 35 runs and providing support while Tiripano continued to plunder runs. Definate Mwadzi's impressive knock of 129 off 132 balls for Westside Cricket Club was overshadowed by Tiripano's heroics. Prosper Mugeri's unbeaten 72 also went in vain as Mutare Sports Club emerged victorious.

Matthew Campbell takes career-best figures of seven for 24

Matthew Campbell had an exceptional performance, taking career-best figures of seven for 24, as his team Rainbow Cricket Club secured a four-wicket victory over Kadoma Cricket Club at Old Hararians Sports Club. Campbell, the son of former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell, has been in great form since his breakout performance in the Zim Afro T10 tournament.

In this match, only Takudzwanaishe Kaitano (42) and Terrence Makoroma (34) put up some resistance against Campbell's bowling. Campbell himself was dismissed for a duck after facing only two balls, but Ronak Patel took advantage and scored a useful 33 runs. Both Patel and Campbell were dismissed by Kudawashe Macheka, who was mostly disciplined but occasionally struggled with his line. Robert Chiminya played a crucial role in securing the win for Rainbow Cricket Club with an unbeaten score of 43.
