REFRESHING SOUNDS: A Dance With MulaNation This Summer As Maxy Boi and Munashe Set to Release Extended Plays

By Brandon Mwanza

Earlier this year, MulaNation Entertainment unveiled new and refreshing voices in the form of Maxy Boi and Munashe. The label, headed by veteran rapper and producer Scrip Mula, launched the two artists who started off on a high note by releasing singles which were accompanied by top notch visuals.

After the release of their debut singles their trajectory has been up, scaling to new heights with diverse sounds from Afropop to Amapiano fused sounds — essentially, a refreshing dose of contemporary Afro-Alternative sounds with an apt Zimbabwean tinge.

August has been a busy and blissful month for the team; weve seen the artists perform at the Blue Africa Festival in Mazowe as headliners alongside Nyasha David and at Yoyo Festival where they opened for South African Amapiano sensation Daliwonga.

It was during their set that Maxy Boi (riding high on his music video for SHAA directed by Leoy V) and Munashe (who released SARU with Scrip Mula and Narga) announced that they would be serving us with new music to feast on in the form of Extended Plays.

The two EPs Trust In MB by Maxy Boi and Only Munashe by Munashe  will drop on the same day and will see features from the likes of Voltz JT and award-winning producer/artist Scrip Mula, to mention a few.

Denzel Sambo of the 263 Post wrote about the two artists earlier this year. On Munashe he remarked:

Born Munashe Mudepu in family involved in the music business since earlier on Munashe got a glimpse of what music is at an early stage in his life. Munashe is greatly influenced by west African music and most notable Salif Keita . He is also a member of the group Wenyombwe and they represented Africa in the Netherlands at a World Music Competition and won.

And as for Maxy Boi, he wrote:

Maxwell Tinavoishe Nyabvure, professionally known as Maxy Boi, is a rookie in the industry. Maxy started making music in 2018 with his friend Greg Manongwa (4Real) who is also signed to MulaNation ENT. Although he had always been musical, it is Greg [whom he] credits for lighting the musical flame in him as Greg had been making music when he was based Botswana and put Maxy on what he had been doing.

The team at MulaNation Ent is yet to announce the exact date but are however going to drop a song which features both artists ahead of the release of the projects.

Both EPs are blessed with executive production by magician Scrip Mula, and judging by the music already dropped by the label, this year is definitely one to count on: it is going to be a summer to remember.
