Segulm set to drop visuals for “Mbuu” ft. Young Gemini – A timeless love story from 'First of Season' album

TAWANDA CHARI

Segulm is set to officially drop the visuals for Mbuu, one of the standout romantic ballads from his debut album 'First of Season'. The track, featuring the smooth lyrical charm of Young Gemini, is an epode to finding and keeping that one partner you want to grow old with.

The title Mbuu comes from a Shona expression that refers to white hair – a poetic image of ageing together. It’s a love vow wrapped in a modern Afrobeat groove, promising to cherish each other “until the grey hairs turn white.”

“It’s a song for everyone who believes in lasting love,” Segulm told us. “We wanted to make something that celebrates real connection. The kind that outlives trends and seasons.”

Young Gemini echoes the sentiment: “It’s rare to find music these days that speaks about forever. Mbuu is that rare moment. It reminds us to love deeply and intentionally.”

The video, directed by the brilliant Sorogin-Sorojena of Simdoc Films, premiered on YouTube on August 19, 2025. It beautifully visualises the song’s message; following a couple’s journey from youthful romance to their golden years, still dancing, still in love. The warm tones, intimate framing, and performances give the visuals a nostalgic, almost cinematic weight, making the story feel lived in and true.

Mbuu invites listeners to reflect on what it means to choose someone again and again, through all stages of life,” said Diana Elisha Nheera, project executive and Segulm’s talent manager.

'First of Season' is Segulm’s introduction to the world. A sensational statement of new sound, vibe, and style. As the pioneer of Guru Afro Music, Segulm uses both his art and fashion to inspire young people to embrace their identities unapologetically.
