Ngezi Platinum Stars consolidated their lead in the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) with a convincing 3-0 win over Green Fuel at Baobab Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts scored twice in the first half through Qadr Amini and Delic Murimba, before Bruno Mtigo added a third goal in the 60th minute.
The victory took Ngezi Platinum to 45 points from 23 matches, three points ahead of second-placed Manica Diamonds, who beat ZPC Kariba 2-0 at Gibbo Stadium.
Highlanders remain third on the log with 41 points, but have a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo Chiefs stunned Dynamos 2-1 at Barbourfields Stadium to end their five-match unbeaten run in all competitions. This was also the first defeat for Dembare's new coach Genesis Mangombe.
Malvin Mkolo gave Chiefs the lead two minutes after the break, before Donald Mudadi equalised for Dynamos in the 51st minute.
However, Obriel Chirinda restored Chiefs' advantage three minutes later and secured the three points for the home side.
The result left Dynamos in fourth position with 36 points, while Chiefs are eighth with 29 points.
